Bluetongue confirmed in single sheep near Faversham, Kent

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) reports that bluetongue virus BTV-3 has been confirmed in a single sheep near Faversham, Kent.

In response, a 20km Temporary Control Zone (TCZ) has been put in place.

The APHA says that keepers of cattle, sheep, camelids and other ruminants ‘must remain vigilant and follow the restrictions on animal and germinal product movements that apply’.
