It’s rare for something truly ‘new’ to appear in the world of chicken coops , but John Rawlings of Yorkshire based campinghuts.com has achieved just that with his Chookwaggons.Designed, developed and manufactured in North Yorkshire and priced from just £395 plus delivery, Chookwaggons come in a range of painted or stained, pressure treated wood finishes. Ideal for domestic chicken keepers – and with the chickens’ welfare foremost in the design process – Chookwaggons have been made to provide attractive, easy to move and easy to clean accommodation for 4-8 adult hens. Removable roosting bars and lockable brood boxes are incorporated along with pop hole shutter and ladder, lockable in the closed position for additional security whilst the hens are roosting. The unique design allows the entire body of the coop to hinge forward presenting a flat floor; roosting bars then lift out and the interior cleaned making routine care easy and straightforward – a clean coop equals happy hens. Available now from www.campinghuts.com, Chookwaggons are part of their Shipshape range that includes camping cabins and kennels also.
