Chelsea Green Publishing and FarmED have announced the line-up for the third year of their Farm and Food Lit Fest, which is set to take place on 11 May 2024.
In its third sell-out year, the Farm & Food Lit Fest is a unique curation of talks, panels and workshops from a dazzling line-up authors, who will share stories from wonderful world of agroecology, regenerative farming and sustainable food. The festival will take place on Saturday 11 May 2024 at FarmED’s HQ and education centre near Chipping Norton. Some of the speakers include:
- Helen Rebanks, author of the Sunday Times-bestselling The Farmer’s Wife: My Life in Days. Helen and James Rebanks run a tight-knit team that has made their farm globally important with their farming innovations.
- Britain’s favourite rewilder Derek Gow uncovers the mythology, mystery and history of wolves in Britain in his new book Hunt for the Shadow Wolf, asking important question about why we should consider bringing the wolf back to Britain.
- Designer Alice Robinson, author of Field, Fork, Fashion, was named to Vogue Business’s 100 Innovators List and in her new book she shares the making of ‘Collection 374’ which highlights the links between farming and leather, and was also shown at the V&A Museum.
- Robin Harford, author of the bestselling Edible and Medicinal Wild Plants of Britain and Ireland has been working in the world of wild plants for decades, uncovering how our ancestors used plants to nourish and heal themselves
- Rosamund Young is author of The Secret Life of Cows, a Sunday Times bestseller and a Times ‘Book of the Year’. Her new book The Wisdom of Sheep & Other Animals transports you to the wild meadows of her farm and gives a peek into the surprising lives of some of our most familiar animals.
To coincide with the lit fest, The FarmED Chelsea Green Young Writers’ Prize winner will be announces on the day. This prize highlights young voices who are passionate about helping to build food systems that nourish people and regenerate the planet. The Prize will be judged by nature writers Nicola Chester and Dominic Couzens, as well as Muna Reyal, Head of Editorial at Chelsea Green Publishing UK, novelist Fiona Mountain from FarmED.
