A June frost is unlikely – but not unheard of.

Vegetables

Three months till the end of the season so get all of the frost-sensitive vegetables (and ornamentals) into the ground now

Make direct sowings of lettuce, spring onions and other salad crops every four weeks for a regular supply throughout summer.

Fruit

Wait for a period of rain and then apply mulches in place around the bases of trees and bushes to hold on to moisture vital for fruit development.

Lawns

Remove a little and often. Infrequent scalpings are the single, greatest cause of damage to turf.

General

June is often dry with high light levels so pay careful attention to watering to sustain this growth. Also, keep the hoe handy as the weeds will be growing faster than your crops.
