A firm has reported ‘exceptional growth’ in its range of Organic smallholder feeds.

HJ Lea Oakes is one of the longest established independent animal feed manufacturers in Britain with a history dating back to 1675. Centuries later, they are still independent, family run and extremely proud to be part of the country’s rich agricultural heritage.

With nationwide coverage they manufacture a wide range of conventional and organic feeds from professional farmers to smallholders covering ruminants, pigs, poultry and horses across multiple sites in Cheshire and Shropshire including a dedicated Organic and Non-GM mill at Congleton.

Their range of Organic small holder feed has seen exceptional growth in recent times. They are greatly encouraged by positive customer feedback. For example, one of the company’s newest customers, Lynbreck Croft, have reported that since moving onto our Organic Layers pellets “hens are thriving and the flock is laying better than ever!”

HJ Lea Oakes work with small producers so that they can source high quality feeds, ensuring livestock live a happy, healthy and productive life.

The poultry range now consists of a grower/finisher (for young birds), a layer’s pellet (fed from 2 weeks pre-lay) and an Organic poultry corn pellet that serves as a delicious treat.

Other products in the Organic smallholder range include Organic calf, lamb and rearer pellets; Organic beef, lamb and rearer nut; Organic Allrounder nut; Organic Sow & Weaner nut and Organic pig finisher nuts.
