Established in 1967, the Donkey Breed Society has built a YouTube channel hosting free webinars by a well-known Donkey Vet, designed to help owners understand the needs of donkeys.

The webinars include two on worming, the first discusses the type of worms donkeys can get, and the second one looks at practical management around worming. There are also individual webinars on feet, skin and vaccinations which are vet led and a nutritionist discusses donkey feeding.

Recently another webinar has been launched on recognising and understanding donkey lameness. Lasting about twenty minutes, with clear visuals, the webinars are a perfect way to increase your knowledge of donkeys and mules.

If you’d like to find out more about the Donkey Breed Society and join them in their donkey-themed activities, from wreath making featuring donkey decorations to taking part with donkeys in the London New Year’s day parade, check out www.donkeybreedsociety.co.uk for a list of events in your area. (The Donkey Breed Society is a passport issuing organisation and is represented on the National Equine Welfare Council).
