FEBRUARY 29, 2008: For the first time, the 2008 British Pig and Poultry Fair willencompass all members of the supply chain with some significant changesand developments for the event, which will be held on May 13th and 14that Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

The leading industry event, organised by the Royal Agricultural Society of England, will forge new ways to address the deepening challenges faced in the pork, poultry meat and egg markets, not least the increasing feed prices and environmental responsibilities.“While at its core, the 2008 Fair continues to provide producers and their immediate suppliers with the latest industry technology, information and opportunities for discussion, it also plans to offer genuine opportunities for processors and retailers,” says Event Manager Alice Bell.Producers can no longer operate in isolation from the rest of the supply chain; there has to be understanding and co-operation between producers, processors and retailers, both up and down the food chain.Alan Murphy of ABN, the Fair’s partner, explains: “We want to make sure that processors and retailers visiting the Fair can gain something of real value – knowledge, ideas or contacts that can help their businesses progress in a way that benefits producers.”MORE: Visit www.pigandpoultryfair.org.uk
