July 2008:A cow has had a rare triplet birth at a farm in Somerset.

Vets told Ed Masters his prize Friesian was expecting twins, but he was shocked when the 10-year-old animal delivered three calves. He said it was the first triple birth in the 60-year history of Redlake Farm in North Wootton.”My father’s 85 and has never known it here on this farm, I don’t think it’s usual anywhere really. My vet has only ever known two in his career,” he said. “Certainly, all three are alive which is unusual. I didn’t expect the last one to be alive seeing the position it was in (in the womb), but it’s good. “They’re all three girls so we’ll keep them for breeding, I hope.”
