… and it’s made with recycled plastic!
Country Smallholding has teamed up with Green Frog Designs to offer a fabulous eco-friendly prize this month – a hen house made from recycled plastic.
Green Frog Designs pride themselves on creating fun, functional products that don’t cost the earth.
The Chicken Lodge, which retails at £360, would be the perfect, eco-friendly home for your birds, and it looks brilliant too!
It will hold a maximum of five large fowl or nine bantams. It has two removable perches and legs that raise it off the ground. Access to inspect the birds can be gained via a full width back door which detaches using quick release pins. The roof removes in seconds as well, makes regular cleaning a breeze. Access to the nesting box is quick and easy too.
The house has good ventilation and remains surprisingly cool, even in direct summer sunlight. Being plastic, the houses require no maintenance. There are few crevices for pests such as red mite to hide in, and the house can be cleaned very easily – in seconds if you have a pressure washer. And it will dry out very quickly, too.
Carry handles are cut into the roof, so it is easy to move, and it can be dismantled and rebuilt very easily.
