Scarlet Bett-Hewitt from Wiltshire decided to ask her gran to knit little jumpers for her hens … and here’s the result.
Scarlet, 13, from near Pewsey, wanted the jumpers so the hens could not only keep warm if it is a particularly cold winter again, but also as a fashion accessory, so they can ‘change’ colour.
Scarlet’s mum, Sally, said: “We have two Bluebelles who are a beautiful grey, so she thought Chook might like to blend in with them! In all we have five hens, one Black Rock, two Bluebelles and the two gingers. We are chicken mad here!”
