Further cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1) have been confirmed in Suffolk, Essex, Lancashire and Norfolk.

The Animal & Plant Health Agency have advised that the disease was detected at:

  • A third premises near Bury St Edmunds, West Suffolk, Suffolk.
  • A second and third premises near Heybridge, Maldon, Essex.
  • A premises near Witham, Braintree, Essex
  • A premises near Burscough, West Lancashire, Lancashire
  • A seventh premises near Attleborough, Breckland, Norfolk.

All bird keepers should remain vigilant and follow stringent biosecurity measures outlined by the Government to prevent future outbreaks. More information is available on GOV.​UK: www.gov.uk/bird-flu.
